We’ve been working with Logan on saying his own name, instead of responding, “GaaahhhhahahAHhhhhhh” when we ask him what his name is.

So today he finally said his name! Which, by the way, he’s decided will now be changed to “Woh-Dan”: Click here to listen.

I know this is mainly a Christmas movie, but the message and song that closes it, is pretty appropriate for the New Year I think. I pray we all have an amazing, prosperous, and blessed New 2009!!

We took James and Logan to their early Christmas present two weekends ago: to ride on the Polar Express Train for a round trip to the North Pole!

The drive to Williams, Arizona was, well, definitely not a short trip. And I must admit, I was a bit worried how the boys were going to be on our first family road trip. But, they did just fine, and we had so much fun showing them the sights and sounds down the 40 and Route 66.

The Polar Express Train Ride was something I’ve been wanting to do since James was two, so I’m really glad that now both brothers were able to enjoy it. We stayed at the Grand Railway Hotel in Williams just for that weekend, and when they tell you it gets really cold in the desert during the wintertime, you better believe it!

Well, regardless of the weather, Williams was still a beautiful sight to see:

Logan couldn’t drink his because it was to hot, so Chris got a bit greedy….

So the tradition is, all the kids show up dressed in their jammies, just like in the movie. You can see how some of the adults have fun with it too and dressed up for the occasion

The ride ended with the best part: meeting Santa!!

Oh but let’s not forget the bell Santa gave to every child who believes!

Well I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with their loved ones! I sure did… ate too much of course but loved every minute of it! And Christmas is just right around the corner!!

I love this week’s inclusion in the post secret blog

I received a text this morning from my friend Colleen, who not for the first time, has unknowingly reassured me that no matter how bleak things can be one day and great looking the next, God is always in control, and I just feel so comforted knowing that, especially during a very confusing time for me right now.

She sent everyone a great passage, from Hebrews, Ch 11:1….

And then I hear this song for the first time today; such a great addition to that beautiful passage…

James: Mommy, I wanna tell you something.
Me: What is it?
James: I wanna tell you a joke, mommy.
Me: Ok, go ahead…
James: What do you eat with a banana?
Me: Um… an apple?
James: No, you eat NOTHING with an apple.. ahaha hahhaha!
Me: Wait, but you said, banana, I said apple.
James: No! It’s… the apple… um… mommy, you messed me up!
Me: (lol) oh, mkay, sorry!
James: Okay…. ok, what do you eat with a banana?
Me: I dunno, what?
James: (pause) Ummm, wait…. (pause again)…. umm, arrrghhhhh!!

(Can you tell who he gets his joke-telling skillz from? lol…)

Yeah, give me some room to catch up a bit, will ya? Wow, it’s November and I have not posted for a crazy long time. Well, when your days melt together like mine have this last month, you’d know.

Anyway, Halloween came by and went like lightning, but here a bit of images from our church festival (which again was another great success… over 2000 of our surrounding community stopped by and had a great time!)

So yeah, tons more stuff that I could/should share, and I possibly will in the next post (which hopefully won’t be too far ahead….)

And I’m still trying to grasp it. I swear, it was just Spring, wasn’t it?
Anyway, we had a sweet time having lunch with Chris’ parents on Sunday and afterwards, visited the neighborhood Pumpkin Patch with our Mini-me’s
