“Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.” -Harper Lee, “To Kill a Mockingbird”

It’s just so sad to see this list… many are classics which were required reading in my school days. I’m happy to say I own most of these books in my personal library, and I will definitely share them with my children when they come of age.

*“To Kill a Mockingbird” (Harper Lee)
“The Color Purple” (Alice Walker)
“The Outsiders” (S.E. Hinton)

Looking at the news on my google page this morning, I am forced to wonder if the hope for humanity is really dwindling.

I have realized that while during July and August things have been pretty hectic and busy, now it’s just laziness that keeps me from blogging. I don’t really have the excuse that I have nothing to say, because tons and tons of things have been going on, it’s just plain procrastination and laziness.

So, let me catch up on some things…

One, I am currently at 23 weeks, and we found out that we’re having another BOY! Yup another boy to add to the already testosterone-ridden Conover household, haha. We had a bit of a scare last month with this little guy that’s quietly growing in me, but tests results have come back and we are all stress free again (well as far as that goes, lol). The biggest worry we now have is picking a name, which Chris and I are so not seeing eye to eye on this one.

Which brings me to number two– he wants the name Lucas.. which I’m sooo not into at all. I just can’t get myself to warm up to the name. I do like Michael (I was thinking that for a middle name, after my brother who passed away– Mom’s first born, passed away when he was only a year old). A good first name for me would be Nicholas or Benjamin, both of which Chris is adamantley against. He also refuses any other “J” names because he says he’ll confuse the kids too much (yeah like that won’t happen anyway. I told him he will confuse the kids no matter if he has to distinguish between “James” and “Beetlejuice”, lol.) We both sort of agree on one name, but that’s still up for discussion.

Let’s see, umm, three… oh James’ birthday party is coming up in about two weeks!! Gaaah, I opted to throw it at a public venue this time around, thinking it will be easier (less clean-up, definitely no clean up of the house, etc.) but boy was I wrong!!

Man this time around seems even more stressful, but I know James will have the best time anyway and that’s more important to me. He is still incredibly obsessed with trains and so there’s a train museum which is free and open to the public (like a giant park with trains basically) and I just had to reserve one of the open train cars that can be used for parties. I just worry about the food and all that, but basically we’ll have pork bbq on sticks, lumpia shanghai, all different types of salads, probably a couple of those 6 foot long sandwiches, fried chicken, and fruits and such. I wanna keep this as finger food friendly as possible  since it will be at a park.

I guess that’ll do for now. I am gearing up and getting excited as Christmas is just around the corner! I’m hoping it won’t kill my happiness too much that my parents and siblings and favorite Tita will be in the Philippines this year :*( but I just pray they’ll be back in time in January for the birth of this second little dude :P
